6 August 2025 - NoMachine Session Reconnection Problem
A number of users have experienced problems resuming ALICE NoMachine sessions which have been disconnected overnight since NoMachine was updated at the last service day. The problem is being is being investigated with NoMachine support.
If you are able to log in to NoMachine, but are then unable to reconnect to an existing session after login, please report this via RCS Support, including your username, the time you tried to reconnect in the email and the login server running your desktop (if known). This information will be useful for investigating the problem.
If you are happy for the session to be terminated so you can start a new one, please let us know in the email. In the meantime, if you do not need to keep a session running, please log out from the session (using System->Logout from the desktop menu) when you are done with it, rather than disconnecting.
Restarting the nomachine gateway service temporarily resolves the problem and allows stuck sessions to reconnect, however, this cannot be done frequently as it is disruptive to all connected users.
